Custom Furniture Process

My focus in a custom work is to make you a unique piece that will last generations. In doing so, I use only the best material I can find, meaning I will not be aiming to compete with retail furniture stores for pricing.

  • If you’re interested in a custom piece, chances are you already have a vision in mind. Any images or drawings you have will help convey your idea and put us on the same page. Photos of the intended space would also help.

  • Once we’ve internalized your vision, we can get down to business and discuss the following:

    • Materials (specific type of wood, hardware, etc)

    • Finish (varnish, oil, wax, etc)

    • Price range (a full breakdown of where your money goes)

    • Timeline (start date may depend upon how many other orders are currently pending)

  • A deposit is required before I set out designing the piece.

    After a design is approved, I begin the journey of actually bringing the designs to life. Due to the fact that this is a side-business, I unfortunately cannot give you a precise build time because I can only work on your project during weekends. Depending on the project, it could take anywhere from 1 to 4 months.

    I will send photos at periodic stages to keep you updated on your piece, being as transparent as possible about any issues that may come up, or any pleasant surprises that could save you some money.

  • I’m based in Hamilton, Ontario, so I can currently only deliver to the GTA area. If you are within the city of Hamilton, I would be happy to deliver it myself at no cost.

    If delivering further out, a deliver fee will be required.
